About Zardus
Zardus is built on a family legacy of shoemaking that dates back to 1919 — now in its fourth generation of handcrafted footwear.
The brand itself was born in the 1980s from two brothers of the Felizardo family — the name “Zardus” naturally emerging from their shared surname. What began as a family tradition of craftsmanship has evolved into a contemporary brand that bridges heritage and modern design.
All Zardus shoes are handmade by us in Portugal, crafted with LWG-approved leathers sourced locally in Alcanena, about 30 km from our factory. We use natural crepe soles — one of the purest forms of rubber — for comfort, flexibility and longevity.
We believe in a responsible industry that produces only what is necessary. Our slow-fashion approach and minimalist design allow us consuming far fewer polluting materials and adhesives than conventional footwear production. Our Ergonimic last shape that respect the natural shape of the foot achiving a superior confort.
At Zardus, we value community and transparency. We want to stay close to the people who wear our shoes and to the stores that represent us. We believe everyone should have the chance to know the hands behind their shoes — a human connection between maker and wearer.
Our goal is to combine our heritage with contemporary menswear, creating footwear that feels both timeless and modern — made for individuals who seek authenticity, comfort, and a unique sense of style.
Handmade in Portugal. Rooted in heritage, shaped for the present.
